Digital Designer

We're looking for a talented Digital Designer to join our small but mighty team for 3 days per week for 6 months (with a view to continue ongoing).

SALARY: £32k - £38k (pro rata)
CONTRACT TYPE: 6 months initially

About the job

We're looking for a talented Digital Designer to join our small but mighty team for 3 days per week for 6 months (with a view to continue ongoing).

We're open to candidates who can either do 3 full days, or those who would benefit from spreading out the same hours across more days to achieve shorter days.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things design but especially web and video/motion focussed and a portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for aesthetic quality, attention to detail and clever solutions to real human problems.

We are looking for a designer who puts ‘the customer’ at the heart of everything. Someone who can understand our client’s needs and find a balance with the needs of their customers.

You can run projects from concept through to delivery in tandem with the team, by researching and translating business and human needs into meaningful, easy-to-use, and engaging creative solutions across various platforms.

The opportunity

We're embarking on an exciting phase of our journey and are looking for someone to join us on it.

Day-to-day, you will be helping our clients maximise their digital brand experiences, working on brand definition, UI prototyping, web applications, multi-site CMS-based websites and smaller static brochure sites. We're also super keen to continue to translate our designs into motion graphics and video -  there’s plenty of variety to be had.

You must be able to create designs that translate across both offline and online media.

You’ll enjoy solving problems, either big or small and can use your design knowledge and skills to do so. You will have demonstrable experience and knowledge across the Adobe Creative suite and Figma. We need designers who desire to produce accessible, performant and positive digital brand experiences.

Our Application Process

Please note: We receive a significant amount of applications, so if you send in a generic cut-and-paste email without a cover letter or a portfolio, you most likely won't receive an interview.

We will always tell you if you've been selected for an interview or not.

Please apply to us at jobs@majordigital.com.

Application

Please apply to us at jobs@majordigital.com with:

  • Compelling cover letter that explains why you're interested in the role and joining our team.
  • A work portfolio that demonstrates your creative work backed by strategic thinking. If you include collaborative projects, then let us know your specific role.
  • A CV or a link to your LinkedIn profile.

Initial screening

We will invite you to an informal video call that'll allow you to share a little about yourself, and for us to do the same.

We'll ask you more about your experience, interests and aspirations, as well as why you're interested in working with us.

Knowledge assessment

If you're successful at your first interview, we will invite you to a second interview with a member of our senior team, which will last a little longer, and involve a brief task or project walkthrough so you can showcase your abilities and we can see how your mind works.

Cultural add interview

Face-to-face meeting with our Experience Director and a member of the department hiring the role.

This is an informal meeting over coffee where we'll ask you lots of silly questions, and hopefully, you'll ask us lots too.

Then we can give you a tour of the office and media facilities. And you can let us know if you are still interested in the job.
